Founded in 1999, Mather Institute shares innovations and next practices with the goal of improving aging services. By regularly collaborating with universities around the country, the Institute serves as an innovation incubator, transforming the senior living industry by bringing leading-edge research to real life.
In addition to conducting and sharing its own research, the Institute curates and interprets relevant studies and emerging next practices, spreading information that can positively impact older adults and those who provide services to them.
Our Age Well Study offers exciting news
Mather Institute’s landmark Age Well Study is one example of our commitment to the industry. It is the only national longitudinal study to evaluate the impact of living in a Life Plan Community on residents’ health and well-being. This five-year study examined changes in the health and wellness of residents of Life Plan Communities over time, and compared them to older adults within the community at large, providing insights into how or whether people Aged Well.
