Evanston, Ill. (July 10, 2007) – Mather LifeWays, a not-for-profit dedicated to creating “Ways to Age Well,” announced today that it is the recipient of the 2007 Excellence in the Workplace Award. Given annually by the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA), the award recognizes one organization that demonstrates effectiveness in fostering and advancing a healthy workplace culture and an environment that promotes the recruitment, retention and development of staff at all levels of the organization. In addition, AAHSA awards the organization who demonstrates a commitment to Quality First, a philosophy of quality and a framework for earning public trust in aging services.

Leary will accept the award at AAHSA’s Annual Meeting & Exposition, taking place Oct. 21-24, 2007, in Orlando.

- Implementation of training for staff at all levels
- Promotion of diversity in the workforce

- Demonstration of noteworthy achievement in staff retention, as evidenced by longevity and professional growth of employees.
