Renovation to Include First and Second Floor Common Areas;
Senior Living Community to Add Apartments for Mather Gardens Residents for Early 2006 Move-In
Evanston , IL- July 5, 2005- Following a multi-million dollar renovation to the 3rd floor of Mather Pavilion in 2002 to provide a state-of-the-art memory support center, Mather LifeWays announced today their next steps for expansion and enhancement of Mather Pavilion. These enhancements include extensive renovation to the first and second floor common areas and resident suites on the second floor; addition of assisted living apartments on the first floor for residents moving from Mather Gardens in early 2006; and the relocation of Medicare-certified suites to the 4th floor — seven suites to be provided.
The Evanston-based senior living organization committed to providing quality housing, services and care for older adults, previously announced plans to build a premier, continuing care retirement community in Evanston . Upon city approval, the new community will be developed on the site of its two existing buildings, Mather Gardens and Mather Place at The Georgian. Proposed to be phase one of the new community, residents of Mather Gardens will select apartments at Mather Pavilion, Mather Place at The Georgian and Mather Place of Wilmette . Mather Gardens will remain open through 2005.
Mather LifeWays staff is working with residents and family members to make the process as smooth and comfortable as possible for the residents. Mather Pavilion recently announced the addition of a new geriatric nurse practitioner who will be involved in helping residents and families make the best decisions for the move.
